Various teleseminars and webinars will be offered on a regular basis on vocation related topics.
Q: What is a teleseminar?
A: A teleseminar is when you and one or more people get on the telephone for a conversation, or a talk from a Speaker on a particular topic. A webinar uses technology on the internet for people to have an online “conference”. Both of these allow you to participate in an information or group meeting session from the comfort of your own home.
Q: Who gives the teleseminars and webinars?
A:
Q: How much does a teleseminar cost?
A: Most of the teleseminars will be free to attend; however, you may pay a long distance phone charge depending on your telephone plan and your location.
Q: How much does a webinar cost?
A: Most of the teleseminars will be free to attend; however, you may pay a long distance phone charge and/or internet connection charges depending on your internet access plan and your location.
Q: How do I know what time to dial in for the teleseminar or webinar?
A: When you sign up for a teleseminar or webinar, you will be given a time and date for the event. Please note that since people are in different time zones, the best way of knowing what time to call is to consult www.Time.gov to make sure that you don’t miss the call.
Q: How do I participate in a teleseminar?
A: To be on a teleseminar, please follow these steps.
- Register at the Online Catholic Vocations Community [Not Yet Open To The Public] and follow the instructions in the forum for the teleseminar. You will be given the dial in information for the teleseminar you are eligible to attend and a link to download the Study Guide.
- Download the Study Guide at least a few days before the call to familiarize yourself with the topic.
- If there are any questions you have that you would like answered on the call or webinar, please go HERE to ask your question.
- On the day of the teleseminar, dial in the number and when prompted, the passcode and you will be connected to the teleseminar. Please be sure to be on time, and consult www.Time.gov if you are not sure what time you should dial in from your part of the world. Give yourself the 5 minutes headstart to make sure you can get into the conference. For the webinar, follow the instructions for accessing the conference room.
Q: What is the Study Guide?
A: The Study Guide is a worksheet designed to help you get the most out of the upcoming teleseminar.
Q: Are these teleseminars live?
A: Some of the teleseminars will be live. Others will be recordings made of the live teleseminars.
Q: Do we speak on the teleseminars/webinars or do we just listen?
A: In some calls, only the DoIHaveAVocation.com Staff and Guest Speakers will be enabled to speak. The exception to this would be when there is a Q&A session in which the participants are allowed to pose their questions and talk.
Q: How do I sign up for the Q&A sessions for a teleseminar?
A: The Q&A sessions are not open to the general public. Often they are limited in size to better enable interaction with the Speaker. If you want to be in the Q&A session of any particular teleseminar, please consult the relevant details in the Online Catholic Vocations Community under the Teleseminar area or the Study Guide which you will receive when registered for the teleseminar.
Q: Are there any deadlines for registering for a teleseminar?
A: Yes. These will be noted in the description of the individual teleseminars. Seats are limited and are given at a first come, first serve basis.
A: Each teleseminar is recorded. The recordings and transcripts are available for members of the Online Catholic Vocations Community. You may download them and/or have the CD and Transcript sent to your home for a nominal fee. Details are available in the membership area.
Q: Why do you have teleseminars?
A: We want to give men and women the opportunity of listening to top Speakers discuss vocation questions. If we arranged a normal seminar or conference, a lot of people would be unable to attend. Even the Staff at DoIHaveAVocation.com live in different countries and states. If we had to get together in a physical place, it could be cost prohibitive not only for attendees but also the Staff.
Q: If I don’t register for a teleseminar or learn about it long after it’s held, is there a way I can get the information?
A: Yes. We offer the recordings and transcripts for a minimal fee in the Online Catholic Vocations Community members area. Simply register to sign in and you will find ways to access old teleseminars.
Q: Why are the live teleseminars free but the recorded ones are not?
A: We would like everyone to have access to the information given on the teleseminar calls and encourage participation in these calls. To allow for convenient access to the talks and transcripts, either online or by CD and a printed copy of the transcript, we charge a nominal fee. This helps pay for the website and the materials sent out.
Q: If I paid for a teleseminar recording and transcript, can I download them to my iPod?
A: Yes.
Q: If I paid for a teleseminar recording and transcript, can I distribute these?
A: To protect the rights of the authors, distribution of recordings, transcripts, or Study Guides is not permitted. However, you are invited to recommend this site to your friends. Please note that copyrights exist for a reason. It takes authors and Speakers lots of time, experience, education, and other expenses to share the information they are offering you through this site. Please note that distributing materials can be material for the sacrament of reconciliation with the additional obligation of restitution.
Q: Will you be offering other resources (books, links) of the Speakers for listeners?
A: Yes. Our Speakers are handpicked and we will offer resources from them which we feel will be of value to our listeners.
Q: I really love this particular Speaker you are featuring for an upcoming teleseminar. How do I get in contact with them?
A: If you wish to speak with a Speaker, register for the Q&A session if it’s available. Some of our Speakers are in extremely high demand and are not able to cope with the volume of people requesting information or time that are generated by calls like this. Any contact information for a Speaker will be given by the Speaker in the Study Guide or the Q&A session. Q&A sessions are closed door sessions and are not available to the general public.
Q: Can I record the call when I’m participating on a teleseminar?
A: DoIHaveAVocation.com and the Speaker(s) have all rights to the call and its contents. The materials are copyrighted under US and International law. We are giving you the opportunity to access the teleseminar without charge (telephone long distance charges may apply), but this does not give you permission to record the call or distribute recordings to any call on this site.
If you wish to give your friends access to the contents of a teleseminar, please direct them to this site. As stated above, unauthorized copying or recording, even for personal use, is matter for confession as it violates the rights of the authors and Speakers. This matter can be potentially serious (mortal or venial sin) and may also be cause for legal redress.
